The resort has its own small secluded cove called La Cala, which is very beautiful. It gets very hot and there are a limited number of parasols, so go early or take your own umbrella if you want some shade. There are many other beaches in the surrounding area on both the Mar Menor and Mediterranean coasts, ranging from the totally unspoiled (take your own shovel) to lively beaches with full facilities and water sports. Mar de Crystal has a nice little bar/coffee shop for sitting outside. Calblanque is a lovely beach on the Mediterranean – you need to get a bus to this, and you can pick this up in Los Belones or on the way to Cabo de Palos.
